DIFFERENT MINDSET provides professional Coaching and Mentoring, to entrepreneurs, and owners of small and medium businesses.
Based in Scotland’s central belt, I work remotely with clients anywhere in the world.
I know that every client is unique, with different goals and different attitudes to change, development and growth.
I'll make you think in more detail about your business and your dreams than you've ever done before.
I'll help you create a detailed plan and together we'll set seemingly unacheiveable goals. Goals that you only dreamed of previously.
And then I'll help you achieve them.
I'll stay right by your side, as long as you need me.
And that's a promise.
Why did you choose the black chess knight in your company’s logo?
The simple answer is, because it represents my brand perfectly and encourages people to ask questions. It also creates a strong first impression, which is what I always try to do.
I wanted my brand to grab your attention and tell you something about my values at first glance.
The knight also moves differently from other chess pieces, he thinks differently. Think about it. All the other chess pieces move in straight lines, forward, back, left, right, diagonal. And the Bishops are stuck to only single coloured squares. Their limitations are obvious.
The knight on the other hand can jump over other pieces or obstacles, making moves even the queen cannot, and as such, the knight is one of the most versatile pieces on the chessboard.
The knight chooses a different path and can be highly disruptive, confusing the other pieces/rivals/competitors.
You could say he has a Different Mindset!
The knight perfectly represents Different Mindset and our fundamental aim of helping busy professionals and business owners, to achieve success – whatever "success" means to them.
Many coaches limit themselves from the outset, by sticking to a “straight-line game”, but like pawns, they will fail against the rooks and bishops that represent the more powerful players/competitors.
The knight also represents our strategic approach to resolving more complex business issues. Here I have taught myself to think, not just about the next move, but the move after that, and the move after that. In fact, several moves ahead, ensuring you are ready for anything that lies ahead.
The black knight also symbolises our strict code of conduct, our Core Values and our attitude towards professional integrity.
The knight alternates between white and black squares with each move, making him difficult to keep up with and demonstrating highly strategic thinking. And only the knight and the pawn can actually start a game.
Different Mindset wanted to adopt a strategy that will announce our brand’s arrival, so we have employed our knight in shining armour to achieve just that. He is responsible for communicating our reputation and for firmly defending it.
When we think about the pieces in a game of chess, the rooks represent the ancient castle walls and are the first line of defence. If the walls are breached, it becomes the knight’s responsibility to defend the realm.
Mounted high, on a majestic black steed, he has a much clearer view over the landscape, high above everyone else. With their particular advantages, knights are intended to be right in the middle of the action, exactly like Different Mindset.
The rules of chess state that the white players must make the first move, which means the black players are always one step behind.
We don’t think that’s fair, so here at Different Mindset we change the rules to your advantage. Black will make the first move, ensuring you are always one step ahead.
The Black Knight is ready to go into battle on your behalf…. metaphorically speaking of course.
The analogy here is simple, the game of chess represents your wishes to develop, learn and grow and all the obstacles you must overcome and the strategies you need to employ.
Let Different Mindset be your knight in shining armour.
